To allow us to launch Facebook & Instagram ads for your business, please follow the steps below to grant us access! Or follow this walkthrough video.
Time needed: 15–30 minutes
Please note those instructions need to be done on a desktop/laptop (not mobile)
What you need before starting!
Desktop/Laptop access (don’t use mobile)
Be logged into Facebook (the account that manages the business)
Admin access to the business assets (FB Page / Business Portfolio if it exists); If they’re not available we’ll create those in the next steps.
Email address (Business email address recommended)
Payment method (credit card ready to add to Meta)
Instagram login (username + password), logged into.
Phone number available for SMS verification
What you’re setting up (Quick overview)
You are making sure everything is inside one Meta Business Portfolio:
Your Facebook Page
Your Instagram account (recommended)
Your Ad Account
Your Payment method
Your Leads Access permissions
Your Pixel/Dataset
You will add our agency as a Partner
Step 1: Log in + open Business Settings
Log into Facebook on your computer
Open Meta Business Suite
Go to Business Settings
Make sure you’re in the correct Business Portfolio; Sometimes businesses accidentally have multiple Business Portfolios (or an old agency created one). Inside Business Settings, confirm you’re working inside the Business Portfolio that represents your business.
Confirm that your email is verified; Otherwise please click resend email and verify your email.
Step 2: Add/Confirm your Facebook Page is inside this Business Portfolio
Go to:
Accounts → Pages
2a) If your Page is already listed
Great; Move to Step 3.
2b) If your Page is NOT listed
Click Add
Choose Add an existing Facebook Page
Select your business Page and complete the prompts
2c) If you do NOT have a Facebook Page
You need to create one:
Go to Facebook Pages
Create a new Page for your business
Return to step 2b.
You should now see your Page in the list.
Step 3: Add/Confirm your Instagram account (recommended)
Go to:
Business Settings → Accounts → Instagram Accounts
3a) If Instagram is already listed
Great; go to Step 4.
3b) If Instagram is NOT listed
Click Add
Connect your Instagram account
Complete the login steps
If you don’t have an Instagram account, that’s okay! You can create an Instagram account later and connect it.
Step 4: Create/Confirm your Ad Account
Go to:
Accounts → Ad Accounts
4a) If you already see an Ad Account listed
Click it and confirm it looks correct (belongs to your business).
Then go to Step 5.
4b) If you do NOT see an Ad Account
Create one:
Click Add
Click Create a new Ad Account
Name it: YourBusinessName | Meta Ads
Select your correct:
Time zone
Currency
These are very hard to change later, so please double-check.
Step 5: Verify your phone number on the Ad Account
This helps prevent errors and account restrictions.
Go to Account Overview
Open Ads Manager directly in a new tab
If Meta asks you to verify your phone number, complete verification via SMS text message
Once verified, continue.
Step 6: Add your payment method
Go to:
Billing & Payments → Payment Methods
Then:
Click Add payment method
Add your credit card
Complete any verification Meta requests
Ads cannot run until billing is active.
Step 7: Give “Leads Access” permissions (required for lead form ads)
If we run Facebook Lead Form ads, we need access to download leads and/or connect them to your CRM.
Go to:
Integrations → Leads Access
Then:
Under From your Page, select your Facebook Page
Click Customize Access
Click Assign people
Give Full Access (To your own profile)
Step 8: Confirm Pixel/Dataset (Tracking)
Go to:
Data Sources → Datasets & Pixels
8a) If you see a Pixel/Dataset listed
Great; Leave it there and continue.
8b) If you don’t see one
Click Add
Name it: YourBusiness | Pixel
Assign it to your ad account.
Step 9: Add our agency as a Partner
Go to:
Users → Partners
Then:
Click Add
Select Give a partner access to your assets
Enter our Business ID: 296333004715276
After you add us as a Partner, Meta will ask which assets you want to share, please share high-level access to:
Ad account (Admin)
Facebook page
Instagram account
Pixel / Dataset
